Some week!

This week has been quite a marker for us! We found an apartment in Uptown that we can actually afford to live in. We secured new health insurance. And this Sunday is my first Sunday to lead worship at The Branch. Having accomplished the formerly mentioned logistical landmarks, we are starting to feel a little better around here!

I have to tell you a little more about the housing. The apartment is right at the heart of Uptown! Just across the street from the most popular social hub--West Village. There happened to be one apartment coming available in December that had not yet received rent-raising refurbishments. We told them they could keep their stainless steel appliances and we would keep the lower price. Seriously--the location and price are absolutely unheard of. We're excited!

This Sunday will be my first time to lead worship behind a piano in several years. The Farmers Branch church family have been most gracious to allow me opportunities to learn and grow this Fall. I'm feeling pretty good about it today.

Location for the Plant!

Great news! We have chosen the location for the church we intend to plant. The location will be Uptown Dallas. This area is filled with a demographic that is largely absent from our churches: the post-college twenty-something young professionals. It is an area full of high-rise condos, apartments, restaurants, bars, shopping, and not many churches at all. It is full of people who are desperate for community. Most are single. Most are living the "high life."

We want to demonstrate incarnational living. We want to present true community through deep relationship with Christ and His people. We want to serve and be a voice for the overlooked. We want to be God's ambassadors in Uptown. We pray He will work through us to create new ambassadors, and to plant a new embassy of His Kingdom as He continues to reconcile this world back to Himself.
