Whose idea was it to move in August?!

We unpacked our stuff in Dallas on the hottest day of the year! Yikes. Muchos kudos to our friend Jeffrey Rasco for helping us unload our truck in storage. The three of us unpacked the whole thing! Let's just say it took a little longer than it took 14 people to pack our truck last week!

Claudia and I are beginning to settle in a bit. We'll be moving to our "long-term temporary" housing on Monday, so we went by yesterday and did some scouting around the neighborhood. We're so very grateful for the housing God has/is providing through the Kisers, Van Rheenen's, and Packer's.

My heart was thinking a lot about our Highland-Memphis family on Sunday. Our transition still hasn't "hit me." Right now it feels like we're on weird vacation. We're working on a few odds and ends this week and we have a couple meetings. Otherwise, we're trying to take it easy after so many weeks of hard work. I slept 12 hours last night. It was most helpful.

Back from Florida

Claudia and I had a fabulous time in Florida with her sister and fam. One thing is for sure--we had some good eatin'. I'm not sure what a vacation without good food would be! We mainly took it easy--which was a welcomed break from the stress of changing jobs and transitioning to Texas. Claudia and I still need to learn how to relax. I think practice will help.

You would all be proud of me, I changed my first diaper while in Florida. Although several--after learning it was number one--have told me it doesn't really count. Here are some pictures with JR, Daisha, and Gideon. Gideon is very intelligent, but his best feature is undoubtedly his "fake smile."
