Share everything in marriage?

Well, Claudia and I continue to learn what it means to share everything. Recently, we decided to share our respective armies of antibodies and white blood cells. To do so, you understand, we've had to share all ailments, bugs, viruses, and germs. So, we've been taking turns getting sick throughout the month of May. Building antibodies isn't real fun, but we're convinced that it's worth it and we're determined to build each other up as best we can!

Okay, so the above wasn't exactly our plan, but it might as well be! Claudia and I have both been taking turns getting sick all month. We're sick of being sick!

Hey, this Sunday at Highland Street is going to be great! We're going to be spending time praying for different aspects of healing: spiritual, emotional, mental, financial, relational, and physical. Please be prayerful with us for our time on Sunday!

Yes, I still serve Highland

Well, sandwiched in between two weddings, I have developed a cold. All that together, and I'm missing Sunday morning three weeks in a row! It's so weird to be here this morning and not be able to sing--I almost feel out of place. But I don't really feel like myself either--fever and a stuffed head will do that.

I'm also continuing to understand how wonderful it is to be married. Claudia is taking very good care of me. And with the end of school, this is the time when I'm supposed to be supporting her! Frustrating.

Hopefully I'll be feeling better before we travel for my sister's wedding.

Layne & Apple

What a great weekend with Layne, Apple, and friends! Layne is my best friend from ACU, and he married Apple last weekend in Midland, TX. The story of their relationship coming together is an amazing story to the glory of God. Let's just say, the story of their relationship lists several miracles and otherwise impossible circumstances. As the minister shared in their ceremony--it is so evident that their relationship is truly "what God has joined together."

It was such an honor to be a part of the festivities. A marriage is such a deeply spiritual experience. In many ways, it is a "death" to one's single self, and a "resurrection" as a couple--a resurrection as one in the Kingdom of God. The groomsmen had a special time of celebrating the ways God has used Layne as a single spiritual being to enrich all of our lives so much. It was very humbling and honoring to be with him in his "dying" moments. For many years now, Layne has brought out the very best in me. I am grateful!

And praise to God as He continually brings resurrection! We can hardly wait to see what He has in store for Layne and Apple together! When I consider the ways Layne has influenced my life, I can hardly imagine how God will touch lives through he and Apple as a couple.

Congratulations to them and to their families!
