Rouse House

Well, for the weekend, my apartment became the Rouse House. I was outnumbered with more members of the beloved Rouse family than my own. Layne and his sister, Jenness, were able to come and stay with me this weekend. We had an absolute blast! Some friendships are the kind of friendships that literally become family. Layne and Jenness are my brother and sister. These kind of friendships are an amazing gift from the Father. And I’m grateful for the encouraging laughter we shared. Check out the pictures below!

I’m also beginning to gear up for Kadesh I at ACU in two weeks. I’ve led worship for this high school camp the last two years. Each year has been a wonderful experience. I can’t wait to be in the amphitheatre late at night singing praises!

Update from Memphis

Forgive the delay. Interesting times here in Memphis. We've had two staff members resign in the last six weeks: Rick Wood, our singles' minister, and Harold Shank, our senior preaching minister. As a result, our associate preaching minister, Chris Atlrock, has assumed the role of senior preaching minister. Thus, there are three roles that have been left empty--and a lot of slack to pick up. I've been working my brains out! Mercy!

April was quite full. We had a Lord's Supper Assembly (where everyone came to the front), a good Easter, and then I led worship at a retreat the next weekend. Not to mention all of the changes mentioned in the former paragraph.

In other news, I am the proud new owner of an iPod nano. And I got it for free! How cool is that?! I'm really enjoying it. And I'm also doing some shopping for my next apartment home as my other lease will soon be running out.

Yesterday, a young girl here at church invited me to her Barbie Birthday Party. Her teacher leaned over to me and said I would have to wait until next year because her birthday had just happened on Tuesday! So, when I asked Mary Beth when her party was, and she said: "Well, it will be a long time..." I cracked up. But I love her spirit! She's already expecting a great birthday party next year, and I'm invited! Thanks, Mary Beth!
