Chris Tomlin, Valentine's, Lectureship, and the Boot Scooter

They have absolutely nothing in common. The concert last Thursday was AMAZING! I encourage all of you to look at Chris Tomlin's website and see if he will be visiting a city near you. What an amazing and refreshing worship experience! I loved every minute of it! I'm just a huge fan of Chris Tomlin and Matt Redman. What a blessing to be led to the throne.

Valentine's Day was really fun yesterday. Claudia and I hosted a special dinner for several of our friends at my apartment. We cooked up a storm and had a really great time.

I'm excited about ACU Sing Song and Lectureship this weekend! There are lots of people to see and restaurants to visit. :o) I'm excited about Lectureship and the classes I'll be attending. I'll be sure to write about them.

Finally, I've decided to name my new car, "The Boot Scooter." Congratulations to Erin Anderson for coming up with the name!

Claudia and I hosted a Valentine's Dinner for several of our friends. Left to right: Stephen Snell, Liz Reding, Jeannie Petty, Claudia Stockstill, Ryan Porche, Brooke Ray, Laura Bontrager, Kim Edwards, Paxton Edwards. I'm enjoying some leftovers as I post this! Posted by Picasa

Concert Tonight

Tonight, I’ll be going to hear Chris Tomlin and Matt Redman in concert. These are two of my most favorite worship leaders. Matt Redman wrote “Blessed Be Your Name,” and Chris has written several of my favorites including “We Fall Down” and “How Great is Our God.” I’m super pumped about it!

Every Saturday, there’s a large group of guys that get together to play basketball here at Highland Street. Recently, it’s become a nice mixture of people from the church and people from HopeWorks (Memphis’ version of FaithWorks for you Abilene readers) and non-Christian friends, classmates, co-workers. I’m excited to see how God can use this venue for creating authentic relationships through which He can be revealed. And a little exercise is always a good thing.

I’m still trying to decide a name for my car. One of the best I’ve heard recently was “The Boot Scooter.” This name touches on the Texan that is still alive and well inside me, it speaks to the car’s purpose of transportation, and it has succeeded in bringing smiles to people’s faces when they hear it.

Any thoughts?
