From Memphis

Well, here I am. My stuff is moved in. Pictures of Porsches are hung on the walls (that's how you know it's home). And my family just left--creating a pain I have never experienced before.

My apartment is sweet. My family did an awesome job of helping me furnish and decorate. If I can ever afford a digital camera, then perhaps I'll post pictures. Or you could come visit me.

Multiple choice question: When there is a flying insect (armed with a stinger) in your home and you have no fly swatter or spray, what do you use to kill it?
a.) box lid
b.) shoe
c.) lighter
d.) belt

While all of these devices would work (although much caution is advised when using a lighter), I chose to use my belt. It took a couple shots (I wasn't warmed up), but at least it was a quick death. Of course, then I had to clean the whole area. Ha! Ask Jaimi Wise--belts work really well with roaches too. And the best part is, it's always with you!

Ryan - so glad to hear that you are getting settled in your new digs. I understand the feeling of your parents and sister driving away....although, mine are an easier weekend trip. My adivce: go out and explore your new city, talk to people, start making friends - esp "surrogate parents" that can be there for you when you need someone close. Those things will make the transition easier. (p.s. I just started blogging this week, too -- feel free to check it out...or not :-)

Hey buddy! Thanks for your comment on my blog. I thought I'd return the favor. :-P Anywho, I'm glad to hear you made it out there alright. I'll definitely have to come see you sometime. I'm getting so frustrated with the job search (though there are times of relief these days) that I'm pondering going back and getting a graduate degree in Experimental Psychology at UTA. That should help things along a bit. :-P Well, I'll talk to you soon, Ryan. Love ya, man! And although you must get close, shoes work wonders against flying animals (but I suppose you could throw the shoe too...just hope you have your fastball workin').
